Department of Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Arrhythmias is a unit of Medical University Teaching Hospital in Lodz, which operates as the largest university facility in the region of Lodz with its 24 clinics, 700 beds, 4 diagnostic centres as well as over 30 specialized outpatient clinics.
Two special focus areas are the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias as well as catheter-based treatment of acute coronary syndromes. In 2012, almost 2131 patients were treated altogether, making our department one of the largest in Lodz. We are accredited by the Minister of Health to train physicians in the specialty of cardiology.
The clinic conducts scientific activity in the field of heart diseases as well as didactic activity related to the medical school curriculum, including English-language studies, for students of Medical University of Lodz.
In our Clinic all areas of non-invasive cardiology are covered. The Cinic is equipped with Holters ECG and ABPMs. It offers also cardiological functional examinations (cardiac stress test on a treadmill or bicycle ergometer), diabetic autonomic neuropathy and syncopes examinations (tilt test).
Moreover in the clinic standard ultrasound transthoracic examinations of patients hospitalized in the Clinic in planned or emergency procedures (diagnosis of cardiac diseases and acute coronary syndrome) and transesophageal examinations are performed.
We also cooperate with Hospital Radiodiagnostic Unit and examinations including angio-CT and MRI of the heart.
